Spring Green Peas
Aragorn: A semi-leafless, stand-up variety, and an excellent splitting pea. It is an asked-for variety in the edible market. (Regions Grown: PNW, Central MT, Northeast MT, Southeast MT, ND)
Ariel: A semi-leafless, stand-up pea with a smaller seed size. This allows for lower seeding rates and lower seed cost. Ariel is an excellent splitting pea and is an in-demand variety in the edible market. (Regions Grown: PNW, Central MT, Southeast MT)
Banner (Ultra): A pea with optimum height and strong yield capability. Banner has the best seedling vigor and quickest establishment of any semi-leafless green pea on the market in North America. The market strength for Banner comes in the canning and whole pea market and is an in-demand variety in the edible market. (Regions Grown: PNW, Central MT)
Ginny II: A green pea with characteristics similar to those of Aragorn. It is semi-leafless with a strong standing ability. Markets it is available for the edible market. (Regions Grown: PNW, Central MT, Northeast MT, Southeast MT, ND)
Greenwood: A unique pea with a persistent “emerald” green color. Greenwood is the only variety currently in the market with this characteristic. (Regions Grown: PNW, Central MT, Northeast MT, Southeast MT, ND)
Fairway: A semi-leafless, stand-up pea with white flowers and green cotyledon.
Passion: A semi-leafless, stand-up pea, with white flowers and a dark green cotyledon. It is excellent for splitting and is available for the edible market.
Spring Yellows
Pizzazz: A yellow, stand-up, semi-leafless pea. Pizzazz was bred in New Zealand by ProGene’s breeding partner, Adrian Russell, and developed through trials across the Northern states by ProGene. Pizzazz has been noted for its superior yield and protein percentage. Pizzazz has a shortened maturity time compared to our other yellow spring pea varieties.
